The General K.S. Thimayya Memorial Trust was established in August of 2009 and is managed by a board of trustees composed of the following old boys of Bishop Cotton Boys’ School, Bangalore:
Romil Turakhia, Lokessh Ahuja, Timothy Franklyn and Karan Joseph.
Former Trustees include Aditya Sondhi, CN Kumar, Rajeev Purnaiya, Kiran Lakhani, Jairaj Daniel, Prashanth Kashyap and Ashwin Nagaraj.
The principal objectives of the Trust are:
To undertake activities to pay tribute to and to propagate the memory of General Kodandera Subayya Thimayya, Padma Bhushan, DSO, Chief of the Army Staff, May 7, 1957 to May 7, 1961, and Old Cottonian (1918-22) and to this end to carry out activities in relation to and support institutions that the late General has been closely involved with, including Bishop Cotton Boys’ School, Bangalore, the Kumaon Regiment, the Army, the Armed Forces at large, and Kodagu District.
To recognise former staff (non teaching and teaching) of Cotton’s with a monetary award for years of distinguished service.
The Trust does not carry on any activity with an intention to earn profit. The General K. S. Thimayya Memorial Trust is duly registered.
The registered office of the Trust is situated at: 101 Landmark, 5/2 Cunningham Crescent Road, Bangalore – 560 052, India.
