15th Gen Thimayya Memorial Lecture
Dear Friends, as you are aware, our 15th Lecture had to be postponed on account of the Ayodhya verdict.
We are happy to announce that the Lecture has now been rescheduled to Saturday, 25.01.2020.
Our speaker is Dr. Ajit Huilgol (1967) – a leading renal surgeon with over 2000 transplants to his credit, as also a BBC award-winning wildlife photographer.
His profile is available here .
His photographic works can be viewed here.
The Lecture will take place at the Resource Centre at St Mark’s Cathedral, St Mark’s Road, Bangalore. High tea will be served at 5:30 pm and will be followed by the event.
The 211-year old Cathedral has been a sister institution to Cottons and since we were forced to postpone the previous lecture due to reasons beyond our control, we are happy to now be holding the event at venue that has much symbolism and aesthetic. The School itself was unavailable to us due to a packed calendar in January and we remain grateful to the management for its unstinting support. We are also thankful to Dilip Jajodia who had come down from London to deliver the lecture in November, and we hope to have him back soon !
Incidentally, the renovation and expansion of the Resource Centre at St Mark’s was carried out at the parish hall in 2007 with the expertise of M/s Mathew & Ghosh, Architects. Its founder-partner Nisha Mathew is the daughter of Mrs Mary Mathew, who taught many Cottonians. (More details on the project are available here)
More details including the topic, format, etc. will follow over the next few weeks.
We look forward to seeing you soon.
